This is a long-term project to restore the house, courtyard and farm buildings of a semi-derelict 15th century chateau near Chinon, France, which is currently used as a summer school. The building is used as an annexe to Bruern Abbey School which I’ve also been working on for the past 20 years. The first photograph shows the courtyard and buildings when it was first acquired by my client and the later photographs show the gradual development of the landscaping and alterations to the buildings. The photographs also show the rebuilding of the barns. The first drawing shows the proposal for the courtyard buildings and swimming pool. The project includes the interior architecture and furniture, as illustrated by the drawing of a pair of bookcases in the Salon.
